Press Statement:

The Launch of My Candidacy for Blaxland

Good Morning, everyone.

Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet today, the Darug People, and pay my respects to their Elders—past, present, and emerging.

Fourteen years ago, In 2010, I arrived in Australia with little more than hope and determination. Like many in our community, my start was tough. Nothing was handed to me. I worked long hours, faced challenging exams, and kept focused on my goal—building a better life for my family and giving back to the community that welcomed me.

After qualifying as a pharmacist, I made Auburn, right here in Blaxland, my home. For over a ten years, I’ve had the privilege of serving this community as a pharmacist. But more than dispensing medicine, I became part of a community that embraced me, not as an outsider, but as family.

Recently, I was elected to the council, The overwhelming support from the community placed us at the top, and I’m deeply grateful for the trust you’ve shown in me. This unwavering support is what inspires me to continue giving back.

As a local pharmacist and business owner, I understand the struggles of small businesses in Blaxland. These businesses are the backbone of our economy, providing essential services and employment. From cafes to family-owned shops and professional services, they are key to our community’s character and prosperity.

Over the years, I’ve served on school boards, joined community organizations, and focused on youth initiatives, especially in Blaxland. I’ve even visited prisons, speaking to inmates to help them find a better path forward.

Through every hardship, victory, and challenge, I’ve stood by the people of Blaxland, and I always will.

Today, Blaxland faces significant challenges: a healthcare system under pressure, an education system that’s not meeting the needs of our children, overcrowded schools, and families struggling with rising costs of living. Our unemployment rate is higher than the national average, and many families and small businesses are finding it tough to make ends meet. Housing affordability is another serious concern.

I’ve seen these issues firsthand on Blaxland’s streets, in its schools, and among its families. I know what it feels like to struggle for a better future. And that’s why I’m standing here today, to announce my candidacy for the federal seat of Blaxland.
I’m running because I believe in the potential of this community. I know what it means to fight for something better, and I’m here to include everyone—regardless of skin color or origin. Blaxland is a young, diverse and vibrant community, and we’re rich in culture. Yet, we’ve been overlooked for too long. We deserve better.

I will fight for a stronger healthcare system, better schools for our kids, and more opportunities for small businesses to thrive. My plan includes attracting more business opportunities, securing more funds and tax relief.

Running as an independent is an honor, but it’s not easy. However, with your continued support, the impossible becomes possible. This is about us, Blaxland—our shared future, our collective potential.

I’m deeply grateful for the encouragement and belief you’ve shown me. As someone who has walked in your shoes, I will stand with you every step of the way. I promise to represent you, advocate for you, and work for our future.

You can count on me to be your voice, your advocate, and your partner in progress.

Together, we can transform Blaxland into a beacon of hope and progress. Thank you.
