‘The Muslim Vote’ which launched earlier this year promised to back at least three independent candidates in safe Labor seats at the next federal election.
Now independent candidates are emerging in those seats. Ahmed Ouf, a pharmacist and councillor in the Cumberland shire will challenge Jason Clare for the seat of Blaxland, saying the people of Blaxland have been forgotten by the major parties.
